PVC Weld Seam Sealant
Our high-temperature PVC weld seam sealant is specially developed for automotive body sheet-metal weld seams. It is one-component solvent-free plastisol type, heat curing at 140°C ~ 240°C, matching automotive paint shop baking line process. After heat curing, it forms flexible anti-corrosion sealing layer to block water, dust and salt spray entering weld gaps, effectively preventing body rusting.
Product overview
PVC weld seam sealant is intended for automotive body sheet-metal joints and weld seams. The material is heat cured during the production process to form a flexible sealing layer around the joint.

Frequently asked questions
What is PVC weld seam sealant used for?
PVC weld seam sealant is used to seal joined and overlapping vehicle body panels against water and dust entry. It belongs to an automotive seam-sealing process and should be selected for the substrate and production line.
Is PVC weld seam sealant the same as PVC pipe cement?
No. Automotive PVC seam sealer seals body-panel joints. PVC pipe cement is intended to join compatible plastic pipe and fittings. They have different purposes and should not be substituted for one another.
Does PVC weld seam sealant need heat to cure?
Many automotive PVC seam sealers are cold-applied and heat-cured in a controlled process. Confirm the exact product’s cure method and bake schedule before selection; do not assume it cures like a room-temperature repair sealant.
Can PVC weld seam sealant be painted?
Paint compatibility depends on the seam-sealer grade, cure state and coating sequence. Check the approved coating system and bake process, then test adhesion and appearance with the actual materials.
How do you prepare panels for PVC weld seam sealant?
Remove contamination and loose material, and confirm the specified substrate condition or coating stage. Validate bead placement, coverage and cure with the production process. Seam sealer does not replace welding or repair corroded metal.
